What a concert!

Well what can I say, I had one of my friends and all time favorite singers in my hometown of Lavaca! Michael English came to FBC Lavaca on January 18, and I must say what an amazing display of God's grace...truly! Mike has come a long way and he has truly showed that God had always been working on his life, and what was amazing about his testimony, is what is amazing about all of our testimonies. If you are willing to let Christ work in your life He will, but not until you are willing. Mike said he had tried many time to battle the issues in his life, but it was not until he totally committed to Christ, and said YES I will do what you tell me to. I love how he tells the story, its not easy, it wasn't over night and yes he had times when he felt like he could not make it, but thru Gods grace and Mikes WILLINGNESS he survived what many people would have let consume them. Michael English you are a hero to me, I believe we all need hero's (or people to look up to) and to me Mike you are one of the few I have. Thank you for being so open, so broken, and so humble. You my friend have an unbelievable talent and testimony that everyone needs to hear!!!

My Birthday 1/13/08

Well 35 years ago tomorrow January 13, 1973 I was born into this world. I must say turning 35 is pretty amazing, amazing in many ways, but the most amazing thing is just reaching that milestone! I can remember growing up thinking I would never reach 30 much less 35, not that I thought I would be dead, but that I truly believed the Lord would return before I reached 35. I do believe that even though the return of our King has not happen, I still believe it could happen any day now. I try to live my life knowing that in a twinkling of an eye our my Savior could return so I try to live my life knowing that at any minute I could be caught up in the sky. So thinking that almost hourly of my life I have to always ask myself WWJD, and I truly believe that is a powerful question to ask. My good friend Steve Wiggins wrote that song and when he told me the story behind it, I find myself thinking WWJD all the time now. One of these days I will share the story with you, but for now I will just say the main thing about writing it was that he said he just got honest about what WWJD meant, "What Would Jesus Do?". It meant exactly what it says, and what is funny we all know what Jesus would do, but do we really live the life? I don't a lot of the times, even though I know I should, and it is funny that I know when I don't do it, I ask myself "why?" Why would I neglect doing what I know my Lord and Savior would want me to do. For me I think my answer is easy, it is being scared, lazy, and I guess just no obedient. My New Years resolution is that I will be more mindful of WWJD, and live my life according to His word, because it is truly the Light unto my path. I hope everyone that reads this thinks about that little WWJD saying that we all had around our wrists or neck or whatever you had the WWJD on during the late 90's and early 2000's, and start to truly live as if Christ could return right now as we are reading this, because He could. Have a great week and I will get back with everyone soon.
God bless,
Daniel

Now is the time to Worship!

Hello everyone just wanted to post a little something before I really get big into this, and what I want to post is very simple...Now is the time to Worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I have found through leading worship now for over 8 years that people are seeking our Savior now more than ever! Worship is a powerful way to engage in a relationship with our Heavenly Father, whether it be through song or through His word, or simply through prayer. So I want to encourage everyone to find time daily to Worship Christ, it is easy just do it, you know when you pray you Worship, but you also are seeking and asking and thanking and praising Christ for all He has done for you! What a Savior we have. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Just a little note for anyone that is interested, starting in February I will be doing "Nights of Worship" around the area so I hope you will join us. If you are a church looking to fill a Sunday night with Worship let me know what I can do for you.

God bless,
Daniel Glidewell
